My husband and I love this product! We enjoy coffee and drink it black, and yet we found the coffee pearls to be a little bitter, so we added some sugar to the recipe. Perhaps the recipe should say "add sugar to your taste". The recipe book also calls for demineralized water for the bath, which most people I presume don't have on hand. I used bottled water and it was completely fine. I also think the recipe book could tell us that the sodium citrate is going to be used only in salty/sour pearls. When I read the recipes I did not understand why some recipes contain sodium citrate and some do not. I am not a chef and I do not have such knowledge. In the end, it is very easy to use, fun to try new recipes, and my husband really enjoyed the taste of the pearls, especially the fruity ones that we made!
Lots of fun making all sort of caviar pearls. My nephews and I were sphering any liquids we could get our hands lol
I got this on a whim, thinking this tool would be more economical than buying tins of already-made pearls. So glad I did! It is easy to use and clean, and my dinner guests thought I was some sort of magician (who am I to correct them haha!). I had some tomato jam that did not set, but I couldn’t toss it because it was so delicious. I ran it through this machine and it turned my failed jam into the perfect condiment for pizza, appetizers and pasta dishes. Can’t wait to make more!
